Saenz Elementary...A TEA RECOGNIZED SCHOOL!

As I prepare for 2010, I cant help to think about what we have accomplished in 2009. We have had many small successes all of which led to being a TEA Recognized School!!! Even though we put a lot of pressure on academic excellence, it is also important to note that we aim to develop responsible citizens who work hard to help each other.

We are beginning the fourth six weeks, and students and teachers continue to work hard on mastering the TEKS. Teachers in all grade levels meet to discuss common assessments and strategies for ensuring that all students receive the help (either remediation or acceleration) that they need. We know that every day is important in the overall accomplishment of each student, and that you as parents are continuing to stress that your children come to school every day ready and eager to be the best they can be. For that, I thank you.

In addition to academics our students are busy taking part in Orff Ensemble, Choir, Destination Imagination, Spelling B, Science Club, Chess, Student Ambassadors, Fundraiser's, PTA Programs, and Science Fair Projects. Our students certainly are busy! Thank you parents for allowing your child to participate in our school sponsored events!

I encourage you to call or come in with any questions or concerns that you have. We have had good success with resolving issues and/or communicating with parents on questions. This is how school/parent relationships become stronger as we join together to educate your children.
